Just because the weather is cooling off and its getting darker earlier doesn't mean our clothing should turn to the dark and dreary side. The color trends for autumn 2011 are quite the opposite. Burnt orange and warm yellow are big this season. You will also see sweaters with yarns mixed with olive, crimson and plum that really make an amazing sweater combination. Many of these styles are great to relax in, or dress up for a night out.

The sweater shape for the season is the cape/poncho style along with last season's dusters and open cardigans. Either style can have a more conservative look or something more glam depending on your accessories. Hints of faux fur also play a big role in sweaters including vest and duster styles. Styles range from a full faux fur vest to just a little trim on a cardigan so you can be daring and wear a lot or just a little.

Novelty coats also play a strong role in fall's fashion scene. Wool styles in a variety of colors are great as a "car coat" or layered for a really chilly day. Standout designs can be seen from Pink Martini with their checkered belted coat, and equestrian cape. Another customer favorite, year after year, is Tulle with their roll neck coat in honey mustard.

The dominance of the slim/skinny pant is still on but taking a bit of a back seat as the wide leg and flare bottom pant of the 70's come front and center. It is an alternative to the slim/skinny pant. For denim, the trouser style is making quite the comeback. An enzee favorite is the Jane Trouser from Dish Jeans in the Barlow wash.

The dresses this season have veered toward the more conservative side as far as length goes, but still have a hint of sexiness mixed with bold prints that can go easily from day to night dressing. Standout lines include easy-to-wear Donna Morgan and Eva Franco, which is designed and made in Los Angeles.
